Nish Patel

CEO
Nish Patel is the global CEO of Paperchase Accountancy, a leading outsourced accounting solutions provider that specializes in serving the hospitality industry. The company, founded in London over 30 years ago, now boasts offices in London, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Dubai, and works with clients across the US, UK, Europe, Middle East, and Far East. Local account handlers are supported by a robust back-office operation in the founders’ hometown of Ahmedabad, India.
Nish received his Bachelor of Commerce from Gujarat University, then moved to the UK to pursue his master’s degree at the London School of Accountancy & Management, graduating in 2006. For the last 15 years he has worked in various FP&A roles for restaurant groups, eventually being dispatched in 2010 to open US operations for Paperchase, and then ascending to the role of global CEO in 2022.
AKU-Patel

Aku Patel

Founder of Paperchase
Director and founder of Paperchase Accountancy, Aku previously pursued a career at Deloitte, before following his passion for hospitality and establishing Paperchase with his brothers in the late 80’s, which is now the UKs leading hospitality accountancy.
His fascination for how restaurants work stems from his childhood experiences, whilst helping to run his parents’ restaurant in Kenya with his brothers, an interest that hasn’t escaped him after 30+ years. Aku regularly shares his expertise and experience to help restaurateurs achieve success, having worked with leading brands, such as Zuma, The Fat Duck, The Ledbury and COYA since their inception. Continuing to support hospitality brands across the globe in the UK, USA, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Aku is enthusiastic about seeing hospitality businesses flourish and remains committed to helping them successfully adapt to the fast-paced environment and competition within the industry.
Steven-Clarke

Steven Clarke

Non-Executive Chairman
Steven Clarke is a highly experienced investment professional and board advisor. He currently serves on the boards of three software businesses—QV Systems, Reactive Technologies, and Planixs—where he works with founders and growth-focused investors. He is also an independent consultant advising scaling businesses, particularly in the technology sector. Steven serves as Chair of the Bethnal Green Ventures Investment Committee. In 2024, he was appointed Chair of Loughborough Business School, where he leads the Strategic Advisory Board supporting the executive leadership team. He joined Paperchase as a nonexecutive chairman. His skills in market leadership are an invaluable asset to Paperchase.

Nitin Thakor

Advisor
Nitin Thakor is an entrepreneur, futurist, investor, advisor, and philanthropist who is building his legacy in the service of budding entrepreneurs. He is the Founder and Chairman of GeBBS Healthcare Solutions and CEO of The Thakor Family Office. A widely recognized thought leader and trendspotter in healthcare, he continues to forge new inroads into innovation and champion value-driven, technology-enabled solutions. He advises Paperchase on business growth as it enters the next stage of expansion.
Zahir

Zahir Kasmani

Advisor
Zahir joined BGF in 2018 as part of the Investment Team in London. His main role is to identify and execute investments. Before BGF, he worked in KPMG’s Corporate Finance team advising owner-manager, corporate and private equity clients on a range of mid-market M&A transactions. He spearheaded the funding process for Paperchase, allowing for continued expansion of our services.
Shaunak

Shaunak Amin

Industry Expert
Shaunak is an experienced and innovative entrepreneur who has helped launch and scale businesses in different industries. He is the Co-founder and CEO of STADIUM and SnackMagic. In addition to the entrepreneurial ventures, his career spans financial technology and investment management with senior roles at Novus – a fintech firm based in NYC, SAIL Advisors- a multi-billion-dollar family office based out of Hong Kong, ING Investment Management, and SEI Investments. Shaunak’s startup company Stadium was able to grow a new business SnackMagic, entirely during the lockdown. The company switched gears and transformed from being a meal delivery service to offices, to delivering “build your own box” snacks to remote workers during the pandemic. He is a long term investor in Paperchase. His marketing abilities and business growth skills add value to Paperchase’s branding and operation as expansion continues.
PurviShah

Purvi Shah

CFO
Armed with a Chartered Accountancy and an MBA in Finance, Purvi is a dynamic finance and accounts leader with 20 years of experience. When she’s not crunching numbers, Purvi is either a devoted mother of two or getting lost in the woods, finding solace through hiking or swimming. Her passion for adventure has taken her to a dozen countries, and she recently made history as the first woman Chartered Accountant in India to complete the Ironman challenge.
Now, as part of the global team at Paperchase, she brings her expertise to drive financial excellence and strategic decision-making. With her sharp financial acumen and proven track record, she ensures the company’s financial stability and growth. Purvi’s passion for delivering exceptional experiences an unwavering commitment to excellence, aligns perfectly with the hospitality sector’s customer-centric focus.

A qualified Chartered Accountant with over two decades of industry experience, Maulik Patel is a Director at Paperchase Accountancy — a respected firm of accountants, taxation, and business advisors based in South London. Known for his strategic insight and hands-on leadership, he plays a key role in guiding the firm’s operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial solutions to a diverse client base.
Over the course of his career, Maulik has demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit, founding a successful umbrella company and establishing a management accounting division that supported a number of UK PLCs. His expertise spans across core accountancy services, team building, and business advisory, making him a trusted leader in our industry.
